Why we do it

The world’s poorest countries continue to experience unacceptably poor health outcomes. The lack of financial and human capital in many low-income countries has resulted in poor infrastructure and fragmented healthcare systems. Existing healthcare facilities across the developing world vary widely in accessibility, quality and cost. Many patients travel long distances and face significant costs when seeking care. The inequitable access to quality care has significant social and economic consequences for affected countries.
